Traditional Styled Seating
Japanese Tea Rooms have been designed and built for entertaining
business guests, as well as to create a sense of tranquility and
quiet for a personal, social area. The photo directly
below was taken from Japanese restaurant in Chicago.
Although the photo was from the 1980's, the clean and simple yet
elegant lines and design transcend time and space and could
easily fit in today's decor. Here, the
sitting area has a well that allows the diners to sit with their
legs in a more comfortable western manner (versus sitting seiza,
with one's legs folded underneath them) while
seated at a traditional black dining table.
